A winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Award, Sean Sullivan's latest
CD, "READY", is a zesty gumbo of jazz, blues, and folksy originals that
will satisfy any soul food palate.
A southern-born native New Yorker, Sean has performed at the Newport
Jazz Festival at Saratoga, the Mellon Jazz Fest, Time Warner American
Music Fest, Birdland, Iridium, and the premier of Netaid at the United
Nations. He has taught vocal jazz at the NYU School of Music,
JazzMobile, and the Vermont Jazz Center. Formal training includes jazz
studies at Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory, the
New School, and a BA in English Literature from Wesleyan University.
"READY", features the grits and gravy sound of jazz great David
"Fathead" Newman - tenor sax and flute, Adam Rafferty -guitars, Jon
Davis - piano, Mark Johnson - drums & tabla, Billy Johnson - bass, and
of course, Sean Sullivan on vocals and acoustic guitar.
